The Graduate Certificate in Applications of Artificial Intelligence is designed to provide students with an interdisciplinary understanding of AI as both a practical tool and a social force. The program emphasizes foundational knowledge of AI concepts and methods, with a strong focus on ethical considerations, accountability, and the broader societal implications of AI systems.
Certificate Overview
This certificate program is tailored for students who recognize the increasing relevance of AI in a wide range of professional and academic contexts. It provides a non-technical pathway for students to extend their undergraduate preparation or complement another graduate program by integrating AI knowledge into their field of study.
The graduate certificate requires a total of 12 credits. Students will select one course in Foundational AI Literacy, one course in AI Ethics, and two elective courses from a list of approved Applied AI courses offered across all five colleges at Lehigh University.
How to Apply
Current Students:
- Please contact the CAS Office of Research & Graduate Programs at incasgrd@lehigh.edu or (610) 758-4280 to complete a curriculum change form, which adds the certificate to your academic record.
- The form requires approval from both your home college and CAS.
New Students:
- You must have earned a bachelor’s degree to be eligible for the graduate certificate program.
- Prerequisite courses may be required.
- Submit your application and supporting documents for review.
